Description
11 Brown's Place in East Linton is a mid-19th century cottage that is part of a row of five single-storey, three-bay cottages. The cottages to the west have been significantly altered and are not included in this listing. The building is constructed of whinstone rubble with sandstone ashlar margins, which are painted on No 11.
Each cottage features a central door flanked by windows. The windows are sash and case style with various glazing patterns. The roofs of Nos 11 and 12 are covered with red pantiles, while No 13 has purple slates. The building has straight skews, and two of the three shared gable stacks have been renewed in brick. There are later extensions at the rear and coped rubble retaining walls surrounding the property.
