Description
Leuchie Lodge is a late 18th century gate lodge that was extended in the mid and later 19th century. It was originally mirrored by a lodge to the north. The building features rubble construction, which was formerly harled on the original lodge, with squared rubble for the mid-19th century work and harling for the latest additions. It has raised ashlar margins and an eaves course.
On the northeast elevation, the lodge was originally two bays with a door on the left and windows on the right. It was extended by a window bay to the left around 1850 and by a further bay with a bipartite window around 1890. The southeast elevation has three windows, with a single window to the right of the original lodge and bipartite windows in the later extensions to the right. The west elevation features a single window placed centrally, along with an entrance screen wall running north with a pedestrian gateway.
The windows have 12-pane glazing in sash and case style, with timber mullions and plate glass, and some later windows have 2-light glazing. The roof is a piend slate design, with an ashlar wallhead and a later ridge stack.
To the north, there is a wall detailed like the west elevation, featuring a blind window and a pedestrian gate. The gatepiers consist of two ashlar pillars with swept caps that support ball finials. The property is enclosed by wrought-iron railings and gates.
