Description

T-plan farmhouse with complex chronology. Earlier 18th

century 3-bay farmhouse extended soon after to 4-bays, and

made T-plan by addition of projecting 19th century drawing

room wing from centre of original house. Harled; painted

ashlar margins.

S ELEVATION: wide single bay piend roofed projection off-centre

to right with semi-circular arched doorway on left return;

panelled door and fanlight. Blind 1st floor window above

tripartite to right of door. Single windows flanking

projection at angle, with further window to outer left.

N ELEVATION: stair window at centre of original house with

single storey outbuildings adjoining to left and right with

rounded outer angles.

E ELEVATION: pentice roofed deep extension at ground with

doorway to right return. Square attic window in gablehead.

Decorative skewputts.

W ELEVATION: blank gable with decorative skew putts,

probably moved from original house.

12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows. Grey slates

with pantiled single storey extensions. Thackstances to

original gablehead stack to E.

Rubble coped rubble retaining wall forming walled garden to S.
