Eskgrove Gate-Lodge, Inveresk Village Road, Inveresk

Eskgrove Gate-Lodge is a single-storey, L-plan gate lodge built around 1830. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with droved ashlar dressings and features a base course on the east side. The lodge has chamfered reveals and quoins, as well as hoodmoulds.

There is a stone porch located in the re-entrant angle on the east side, which has ashlar coping, a panelled door, and a narrow window to the right. The gabled end elevations have windows with blank panels above them. At the rear, there is a near-contemporary flat-roofed lean-to projection.

The windows feature a diamond-pane glazing pattern and are casement style. The east gable has decorative bargeboarding, and the eaves are overhanging. A ridge stack is also present.
