Description
Caponacre Viaduct, built around 1870, features 13 tall near-semi circular arches arranged in a curve. It formerly carried the Ayr and Cumnock branch railway across the Glaisnock Water. The structure is constructed from rock-faced rubble for the piers, spandrels, and parapets, with a red ashlar finish on the inner arch surfaces.
