Description
The Town Hall on Glaisnock Street in Cumnock was built by R Ingram from 1883 to 1884. This two-storey building features a Free Renaissance style and has a three-bay front made of red ashlar stone. The ground floor is channelled and showcases a Roman Doric order with coupled columns at the entrance, flanked by tripartite windows in the outer bays that have banded rock-faced rustication. On the first floor, there are three Roman Doric Venetian windows with head keyblocks, and the central bay is framed by coupled Corinthian columns. The building is topped with a balustraded parapet and has a French domed roof over the central bay.
