Description
The bridge over the Kilmarnock Water on St Marnock Street dates from around 1815 and has undergone later alterations. It is a single span, segmental arched bridge designed for both road and pedestrian use. The structure is built from coursed pink and white ashlar and features a roll moulded band course and plain copes.
On the north and south principal elevations, the abutments are concealed by a later coursed rubble wall. The bridge has a single segmental arch made of ashlar voussoirs, with coursed ashlar spandrels. It also includes a roll-moulded supporting ashlar parapet and thin flush ashlar copes.
