Description

5, 7, 9 Grange Place in Kilmarnock is a later 19th century, two-storey, five-bay Italianate office building. It features a symmetrical front with a base course and a band course at the first floor. The elevation is divided into three sections by panelled pilasters at the first floor, and it includes an eaves course, ball finials at the ends, and a central balustraded blocking course with additional ball finials. The building is constructed from red Ballochmyle sandstone ashlar.

On the south (main) elevation, there are deeply recessed doorways located in the centre and at the end bays, with tripartite windows in between that have chamfered stone transoms. The elevation also showcases three sets of round arched tripartite windows featuring chamfered stone mullions.

The west and east elevations are adjoining buildings. The windows have 2-pane sash and case glazing, and the roof is slate with stacks at the gable ends.
