Beach Shelter, Esplanade, Broughty Ferry, Dundee

The Beach Shelter located on the Esplanade in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, was designed by the City Architect's Office in 1934. This single-storey structure features a concave plan with rectangular wings and is designed in the Art Deco style. It is constructed from brick with a concrete flat roof and piers. The windows are adorned with decorative wrought-iron grilles.

On the south elevation, the design is symmetrical, featuring an open concave loggia at the center supported by slender piers that have simple mosaic detailing on their capitals. There are canted windows on either side, which serve as kiosks and are boarded up, along with a cornice and blocking course. Further lower bays on the left and right contain five windows at the top, with decorative frieze detail above made up of layered tiles. The entrances are set back on the east and west elevations, and there is simple wallhead coping.

The north elevation includes three sets of paired windows in the central convex bay, with five windows in the flanking bays.
