Description
1-3 Baxter Park Terrace in Dundee is a four-storey tenement building designed by McCulploch and Jamieson in 1885. It is situated on a corner site and constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The windows are margined, and the ground floor features pilasters and a band course, while the third floor has a cill course. The elevation facing Baxter Park Terrace is symmetrical with seven bays, and the centre is slightly advanced with bipartite windows. There are twin and single doorpieces on the sides, and the end bays are canted, featuring segmental and triangular pediments on the first and second floors. The right end bay includes a four-light window topped with a steep facetted slate roof and a wrought-iron finial.
The building has a slate roof with shouldered wallhead stacks arranged in a T-plan. The windows are sash and case, with some retaining original coloured glass in the nine-pane upper cases. The property is enclosed by low coped boundary walls and square ashlar gatepiers, although the railings are missing.
