Description
5 Forfar Road in Dundee is a single-storey and attic semi-detached cottage ornee, designed by Reverend G A Harris around 1870. The building features a symmetrical reversed plan and is constructed of coursed rubble with raised quoins and painted ashlar details. The end gables are bargeboarded and include a ground floor canted bay, a round-arched window with a keystone above, and octagonal stacks with crocketed finials at the apex. The inner windows are shouldered arched bipartite. A central gabled porch is supported by slim, foliated columns. The gables are bargeboarded, and there are two dormers with altered bargeboards. The roofs are slate, and the windows are sash and case with a 2-pane glazing pattern, although the attic features modern glazing.
