Description

12 Madeira Street in Dundee is a single-storey and attic semi-detached cottage ornee, designed by Reg A Harris around 1870. The building features coursed rubble with painted ashlar details. It has bargeboarded end gables topped with octagonal crocket capital stacks. The ground floor includes canted bays, while the attic has round arched windows. There are twin timber-faced gabled porches supported by slim columns, and the centre has a bipartite window framed by crocketed pilasters, along with one gabled bargeboarded dormer. The roofs are slate, and the windows are sash and case, originally designed with 2 and 4 panes, although most of the glazing patterns have been replaced with modern versions.
