Description

6 Bingham Terrace is an asymmetrical two-storey villa built between 1904 and 1907, designed by James Foggie & Sons. The structure features squared rubble with ashlar dressings.

The south elevation has three bays, with a central porch that has a shouldered arched opening leading to a three-stage tower topped with a corbelled oriel cornice and parapet. The roof is domed in the Art Nouveau style. The right bay is advanced, featuring a canted window on the ground floor and a tripartite window above it. The left bay has a tripartite window at ground level and a bipartite window above.

On the west elevation, the right bay is advanced and canted at the ground floor, while the left bay has a tripartite window at ground level and bipartite windows above. The east elevation features a stack that is corbelled out to the left and an advanced bipartite bay to the right.

The villa has half piended gables with vertical bargeboarding over each bay. The slate roofs have overhanging eaves, terracotta ridging, and finials, with square stacks that have square crowned cans. The windows are sash and case with a two-pane glazing pattern, except for the oriel window, which is either casement or pivot.

A garage, added to the rear in a similar style by James Foggie & Sons in 1920, complements the main building. The property is enclosed by a low rubble-built boundary wall with stone coping.
