Description
Edward Tough (Hutton and Tough), 1909. Symmetrical 2-storey semi-detached villas. Harled brick and expanded metal lath with timber turrets and verandahs on rock-faced rubble-built base.
Inner gabled bays triple light. Octagonal angle towers, 5 timber mullioned lights. Swept roofs with art nouveau finials. Linking 3-bay verandahs with recessed doors at ground floor.
Side elevations: large stair windows, some with painted glass. Projecting 5-light mullioned and transomed bays set back to rear.
Slate roofs with tiled ridges/ Ridge stacks. Windows originally had single-pane lower cases, 4 and 6-pane upper cases. Unusual glazing pattern to stair windows.
Rubble-built retaining walls with original mild steel railings and gates.
