44 Bingham Terrace, Dundee

44 Bingham Terrace in Dundee is a pair of symmetrical, two-storey semi-detached villas designed by Edward Tough (Hutton and Tough) in 1909. The buildings are constructed from harled brick and expanded metal lath, featuring timber turrets and verandahs that sit on a rock-faced rubble-built base.

Each villa has inner gabled bays with triple light windows and octagonal angle towers that include five timber mullioned lights. The roofs are swept and adorned with Art Nouveau finials. The villas are connected by three-bay timber verandahs that have recessed doors at the ground floor.

On the side elevations, there are large stair windows, some of which have painted glass. The rear features projecting five-light mullioned and transomed bays set back from the main structure.

The roofs are covered with slate and have tiled ridges, along with ridge stacks. The windows originally had single-pane lower cases and four and six-pane upper cases, although the ground floor of the towers has been altered. The stair windows display an unusual glazing pattern.

Additionally, there are rubble-built retaining walls that include original mild steel railings.
