44-50 Union Street, Dundee

44-50 Union Street in Dundee is an earlier 19th-century, four-storey tenement building located on a corner site with Whitehall Crescent. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a slate roof. The ground floor has a cornice, while there is a cill band at the second floor and an eaves course along Union Street. The building has a balustraded parapet and a corniced wallhead stack facing Whitehall Crescent. The windows on the first and second floors along Union Street have lugged architraves, and those on Whitehall Crescent are also architraved, with cornicing on the first and second floors. The third floor retains the original 12-pane timber sash and case glazing pattern, while the other floors have 2-pane windows. There are ridge stacks on the roof.

On the Union Street elevation, there is a close door to the left of the ground floor, which is flanked by altered shopfronts. Each upper floor has four windows. The Whitehall Crescent elevation features an altered shopfront on the ground floor and four windows on each upper floor, grouped in pairs, with the left-hand bay of each floor blinded. There is a wallhead stack on the left side. The interior has not been seen.
