Timex Factory, Harrison Road, Dundee

The Timex Factory, located on Harrison Road in Dundee, was designed by Bennet, Beard and Williams and constructed between 1946 and 1947, with full completion around 1960. This clock and watch factory features long horizontal Modern facades and is clad in yellow stock brick on a rubble-built base. It is situated on the crest of a hill, with lawns sloping to the south.

The south elevation consists of a single-storey manufacturing block that has a continuous band of windows with concrete mullions and a high coped parapet. The entrance, which is made of projecting red rubble, is approached by steps on the right and features a flat roof with a cantilevered canopy. To the east, there is a taller flat-roofed office block, which has a 4-light window placed asymmetrically to balance the "TIMEX" sign.

On the east elevation, the office steps down on the left side. It features a horizontal band of windows that has been partly infilled and reduced to three single lights. There is an angled works entrance set back to the right, with original six-leaf doors beneath a concrete canopy, and a porthole window to the left.

Most of the windows retain their original metal framed glazing pattern. A low rubble-built garden wall extends from the office entrance to Harrison Road, featuring a semi-circular bow to accommodate a flagpole.
