Manse, Lochee West Church, 3 Coupar Angus Road, Dundee

The Manse of Lochee West Church, located at 3 Coupar Angus Road in Dundee, is a large Gothic-style building designed by James MacLaren and dated 1884. This two-storey structure with an attic is constructed from snecked rubble, featuring contrasting ashlar dressings and a continuous cill course at the first floor.

On the west elevation, the building has three bays. The left gable is slightly advanced and includes a ground floor canted bay with a triple light window above it, and a quatrefoil design at the level of the kneelers. The central bay has a bipartite window at ground level and a single light window above that breaks the eaves, topped with a piended roof. The right bay is also slightly advanced and gabled, featuring a ground floor triple light window and a segmental-headed bipartite window on the first floor, along with a single segmental-headed light in the attic.

The south elevation has a gable at the left with a gable-end stack. There is a modern staircase on the right leading to a first-floor door that was formerly a window. A single-light window on the first floor to the right breaks the eaves.

The roofs are covered with slate and feature modern finials on the gables. There are tall stacks, one of which at the rear has been reduced and rebuilt. The windows are sash and case with a two-pane glazing pattern.
