21 Albert Square, Dundee

21 Albert Square in Dundee is a commercial building from the later 19th century, featuring three stories and an attic with a three-bay design. The front is constructed of sandstone ashlar, while the sides and rear are made of rubble, topped with a piended grey slate roof. The ground floor has a cornice, and the first floor is adorned with Ionic pilasters, a plain frieze, and a cornice. The second floor features Corinthian pilasters, a plain frieze, and a dentilled main cornice, with a deep coped parapet that has dormerheads. The windows on the first and second floors are architraved, with ornamental lintels supported by consoles on the first floor and segmental pediments with sculpted tympani on the second. The central dormerhead is segmentally aediculaed, flanked by round-headed dormerheads, each topped with florid palmette finials. The building has modern window frames that are out of character with the original design. The end stacks are segmentally-coped and corniced at the rear.

The front elevation features a modern shopfront at ground level, with three windows on both the first and second floors, and three dormerheads above. The rear elevation has a ground floor that is obscured by a modern addition, with various windows on the upper floors and two dormers. The interior has not been seen.
