Description
Later 19th century. 3-storey and attic, 3-bay, classically-detailed commercial building. Sandstone ashlar to front, rubble to sides and rear, piended grey slate roof. Corniced ground floor, Ionic pilastraded 1st floor with plain frieze and cornice, Corinthian pilastraded 2nd floor with plain frieze and dentilled main cornice, deep coped parapet pierced by dormerheads. Architraved windows to 1st and 2nd floor, consoled ornamental lintels to 1st, segmental pediments with sculpted tympani to 2nd; segmentally-aediculaed dormerhead to centre flanked by round-headed dormerheads each with florid palmette finials; out-of-character modern window frames. Segmentally-coped end
stacks, corniced to rear.
FRONT ELEVATION modern shopfront to ground floor, 3 windows to 1st and 2nd floors, 3 dormerheads.
REAR ELEVATION: ground floor masked by modern addition;
various windows to upper floors, 2 dormers.
INTERIOR: not seen.
