Northwood Lodge, 116 Strathern Road, Broughty Ferry, Dundee

Northwood Lodge, located at 116 Strathern Road in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, was designed by George Shaw Aitken in 1880. This single-storey lodge is built in an L-plan layout, featuring snecked rubble with pale ashlar dressings and a slate roof. It has 4-pane sash and case windows with chamfered margins, plain bargeboards, and exposed collars, posts, and purlins at the finialled gables. The lodge also includes decorative cast-iron rainwater goods and a ridge stack.

On the west elevation, there is a door with a swept roof at the center of the re-entrant, a bipartite window to the left, and an advanced gable to the right that features a canted tripartite window with a bracketed cill and a facetted roof. The south elevation has two windows and a blank heraldic panel in the attic. The north elevation has a similar design but includes only one window.
