Description

53 Heron Rise is a cottage dated 1720, which was remodelled in the later 18th century. It is a single-storey building with three by two bays, constructed from rubble with ashlar margins. The cottage features a central bowed bay, and the original door has been altered to a window. A datestone has been relocated to the east elevation. Although later rear extensions have been removed, part of the wall remains open.

The roof is steeply pitched and covered with slate, featuring overhanging eaves. The roof was reslated in the later 19th century, and the twin stacks have been rebuilt in brick.
