Mansion House, Mansion Drive, Dundee

Mansion House, located on Mansion Drive in Dundee, is a villa designed in the style of James Black around 1830-1840, with extensions to the east in a similar style from the late 19th or early 20th century. The building is two stories tall and constructed of harled rubble with ashlar margins.

The southeast elevation features four bays, originally three, with the end bays having bowed sections that include ground floor ashlar canted windows. There is an off-centre doorpiece with an architrave and a bipartite window to the right. A verandah with a valence is supported by two cast-iron columns, with four single lights above.

The roof is piended and covered with slate, featuring a conical shape over the bows and overhanging eaves. There are twin canted dormers and three gable-end stacks, one of which has been converted to a ridge stack.

The windows are sash and case, with a glazing pattern of two and four panes. Additionally, there is a conservatory at the east gable with a bowed end, although the roof panes were replaced with plastic sheeting around 1980.
