Description

16 Trottick Mains in Dundee is a terrace of single-storey cottages built for mill and bleach workers, dating from around 1790 to 1800. The cottages have rubble-built elevations that are either whitewashed or harled. Most of the window openings have been enlarged and fitted with modern glazing patterns. Canted bays have been added to No 18, and a timber porch has been added to No 20. There are also some later extensions at the rear of the cottages. The roofs are high and covered with slate, featuring small rooflights and no dormers. The cottages have tall ashlar ridge stacks with thack stanes and coping, although one stack has been rebuilt in brick. Originally, the cottages had thatched roofs, as evidenced by the gable of No 13/14.
