Description

James Hutton, 1893. 2-storey, 2-bay, Arts and Crafts-style former photographer's studio, built as infill building. Painted brick, gabled slate roof.

FRONT ELEVATION: altered shopfront to ground floor; 4-light timber oriel window to 1st floor with border-glazed stained glass to top lights and piended slate (painted red) roof, gable with moulded bargeboards and tripartite finial, jettied apex with painted sculpture of box camera entwinded with thistles; narrow splayed bay to right, border-glazed window with consoled cill and moulded lintel, bracketted cornice and plain balustrade.

REAR ELEVATION: 2-storey and attic studio, red brick with white brick dressings, slate-hung Mansard attic with large skylight to studio; glazing altered and balcony inserted 1987.

INTERIOR: not seen.
