Description

The Old Bridge of Tarff, located in Valleyfield village, is a stone-built bridge from the mid to late 18th century that is now bypassed. It features a single segmental arch with an approximate span of 40 feet and a carriageway that is about 12 feet wide. The bridge has dressed springers and roughly squared voussoirs, with rubble soffit spandrels and abutments. The abutments and parapet have a shallow splay, and the parapet is made of rubble with sandstone coping.
