Description
Lochalt, located at Loch Head, is a house built in the mid to later 19th century, specifically after 1848. It is a two-storey structure with a first floor that breaks the eaves and features three bays. The exterior is made of painted rubble, with the east and west elevations harled and painted projecting cills.
On the south elevation, which is the principal facade, there is a modern front door, and the lintel above it is painted with "A Kie Flynn-Licensed in tobacco." The windows are located in the outer bays, and there are gabled dormerheads above the first-floor windows.
The east and west elevations are both gabled and blank, while the north elevation has windows on both the left and right sides at the ground floor. There is a lean-to structure made of corrugated sheeting attached at the center. The original eight-pane glazing in the timber sash and case windows has been replaced with modern uPVC windows. The house features painted rubble gablehead stacks and is topped with purple slates. In front, there is a gablet coped rubble wall surrounding the garden, which includes a simple decorative iron pedestrian gate. The rear of the property has rubble walls.
