Description
The George Hotel comprises two early to mid-18th century houses joined together, with a later west wing added in the late 19th century. The building is located on the High Street in Moniaive. Constructed of painted rubble with margin details, each of the original houses features a central doorway set below the current street level, accessed by steps with handrails. The eastern house has a shaped door architrave, while the ground-floor windows are likely to have been widened in the 19th century. Some glazing is considered unsympathetic. The building has corniced axial stacks and graded slate roofs. The low, western wing has doors and four-pane sash windows. Alterations have been made to the rear of the building.
