Description
The building comprises a former school and associated two-storey schoolhouse, constructed around 1880. It is arranged in an H-plan with the main elevation facing west. The construction is of stugged and squared rubble with ashlar dressings. The school portion, located to the north, features large mullioned and transomed gable windows. A small, sheltered porch adjoins the north side. The schoolhouse has mostly bipartite windows, and a lean-to porch is situated in the re-entrant angle, containing a pointed-headed doorway facing west. The roof has shaped skews with gabletted skewputts. Coped axial stacks rise from the roof, which is covered in slate. The building is set behind a low boundary wall constructed of coped ashlar.
