Description
Creetown Railway Station, designed by Sir James Gowans around 1860, is a single-storey station office and waiting room that is currently in a state of severe disrepair. The building features polygonal masonry with red sandstone ashlar used for horizontal and vertical band courses and copings. Its asymmetrical elevations include doorways that are stepped in, with bracketted lintels. There is a 5-light window on the side of the former platform. The eaves are supported by ashlar brackets and consoles. An advanced chimney breast is located at the gable end, with only one gabletted stack remaining on the dividing wall.
