Description
The Moneypool Bridge is an earlier 19th-century dry bridge, built as a single segmental arch spanning approximately 5.5 metres. Constructed of rubble with squared voussoirs, it includes a clay drainage pipe to the west and incorporated ledges. High embankments flank the bridge, and it has a rubble parapet. Originally carrying the Creetown-A75 link road at the north end of the town, the bridge is now bypassed, with Bridge Street passing underneath. It should not be confused with Moneypool Dry Bridge.
