3 St John Street, Creetown

This is an early 19th century, three-bay, single-storey-and-attic end-of-terrace house, located at number 3 St John Street, Creetown. The exterior is finished with white-painted harl and render, with painted ashlar margins. Stone steps overhang a basement recess containing the central entrance door, above which is a strip fanlight. Single windows are positioned on either side of the entrance at ground level; a bipartite window has been inserted into the left bay of the raised basement, and a single window to the right. Two dormers with piend-roofed slate coverings extend from the attic. A plain gable end is visible, marking the former junction with number 1 St John Street, which has been demolished. A small, flat roof is also present. The building is part of a group, including numbers 5-19 St John Street, and is appreciated for its contribution to the townscape. The railings at the front of the property also contribute to its group value. Note that confusion can arise due to the numbering system on St John Street, as number 1 was once present.
