7 St John Street, Creetown

This is an early 19th century pair of houses located at 7 and 9 St John Street, Creetown. The exterior is built of rubble stone with painted margins, squared granite quoin details, and a granite door surround at number 7. Number 7 is a three-bay structure with a central doorway, while number 9 is a two-bay house with a more modern door on the left. Both houses feature single-light sash windows with plate glass. Number 7 has canted dormers and a small rooflight with end skews to the left.

The roofs are slate, with number 9 retaining good graded slates. Chimneys are tall with coped ends and octagonal cans, topped with sandstone ridges. A small, flat-roofed dormer and a flat-roofed extension are present at the rear of number 9.

The rear elevation of number 7 is rendered and painted, while the rear elevation of number 9 is painted rubble.

The houses are part of a group value setting with numbers 3-5, 11-19 St John Street, which includes listed buildings 17, 18, 20-24.
