Description
Bayview is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay house located on Barholm Street, Creetown. The exterior is of painted rubble construction, with painted raised margins and rusticated quoins to one gable, the other being harled. A central Roman Doric pilastered doorpiece features a modern door and a glazed fanlight. All windows are single-light, sash and case with a four-pane glazing pattern. The house has an eaves cornice, and end corniced stacks topped with octagonal cans and thackstanes. Slate covers the roof, with a sandstone ridge, and there are three small skylights. The rear elevation includes a single-storey, gabled rubble wing. A tall stair light is visible, with red sandstone margins. The property is enclosed by ashlar coped rubble boundary walls, a decorative cast-iron gate, and railings.
