9 St John Street, Creetown

This is an early 19th century pair of houses located at 7 and 9 St John Street, Creetown. The buildings are constructed of rubble with painted margins, with squared granite quoins and a granite door surround to number 7.

Number 7 is a three-bay house, featuring a central front door. Number 9 is a two-bay house with a modern door on the left. Both houses have single-light sash windows with plate glass glazing. Number 7 features canted dormers and a small rooflight with end skews to the left. The buildings have tall, coped end and axial stacks topped with octagonal cans, and sandstone ridges. The roofs are slate, with number 9 retaining good graded slates. A small, flat-roofed dormer and a flat-roofed extension are present at the rear of number 9.

The rear elevation of number 7 is rendered and painted, while the rear elevation of number 9 is of painted rubble.

These houses are part of a group with numbers 3-5, 11-19 St John Street, and listed buildings 17, 18, 20-24.
