Description
Dowding House, located on Old Well Road in Moffat, is an earlier 19th-century building that has undergone later alterations and additions. It features a symmetrical front with two storeys and three bays, finished in harled and whitewashed render.
The entrance is highlighted by a Doric portico situated in the projecting central bay, with a window located above it. On either side of the entrance, there are two-storey canted bays that have parapets which break the eavesline. The roof is piended and slated, with stacks at both ends.
To the west, there is a recessed two-storey wing with two windows, which has a later addition that is also two storeys high and consists of one bay that advances from the main structure.
