Description
This is an earlier or mid-19th century farmhouse situated within a larger farmstead. The farmhouse itself is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a full-height wing extending to the rear (north). Construction is primarily of whin rubble stone, with contrasting walling present on the north side. The front (south) elevation features a central boarded door topped with a fanlight and a consoled, pedimented hood. Sash windows have 12 panes of glass. Shaped skews, end stacks with corniced octagonal flues, and a roof covered with graded slates are also notable features. The rear wing may have originally been single-storey and incorporated a west-facing door.
The farmstead comprises asymmetrical ranges, all built of whitewashed rubble and ashlar. These ranges consist of parallel blocks that flank a courtyard. A low range houses an implement shed, while a taller two-storey block formerly served as a bothy and farmhouse.
