Description
Hollenlea is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house located on sloping ground in Creebridge, Newton Stewart. The north and east elevations are harled, while the south and west elevations are finished in painted rubble. The north elevation features painted raised margins and a painted angle margin on the left side.
On the north elevation, there is a painted brick platform at the center that provides access to the house at the first floor from the road level and serves as a shed at ground level. A door is located at the center of the first floor, with another door in the right bay at ground level. The outer bays on the first floor have windows.
The south elevation includes a window to the left and center at the first floor, with an enlarged window on the right. There is a window at the far left on the ground floor.
The west elevation has a window to the right and a small window to the left at ground level, with another window to the left at the first floor.
The east elevation is blank, and there is a stack set off at the gablehead. The house mainly features four-pane glazing in sash and case windows, with red sandstone coped skews. There is a harled gablehead stack on the east side, while the stack on the west side has been removed. The roof is covered with graded grey-green slates, and there are two modern dormer windows on the south pitch.
