Description
Balgray Home Farm features two cottages from the early 19th century, designed in an unusual symmetrical layout. The cottages consist of a two-storey inner range with canted ends, flanked by altered single-storey bays on either side. They are constructed of whitewashed rubble, accented with contrasting painted ashlar margins. The canted bays have sash windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern. There is a central door on the west side, while the south bay has an east-facing door. The north bay has been widened in both directions. The cottages have wall-head stacks and piended slate roofs, mostly covered with graded slates, which sweep over the additions and feature leaded finials.
