Description
The South Range of the outbuildings at Hewke House, dated 1806 on the stair window keystone, is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a lower two-storey, four-bay long rear wing. It is built from rubble with ashlar dressings and painted margins. The south elevation features a Roman Doric porch with two columns set in antis, a recessed panelled door with sidelights and a decorative fanlight. The outer ground floor window cills have been lowered, likely in the late 19th century, and the first-floor window lintels touch the eaves course. Sash windows are present throughout, with a 12-pane glazing pattern (the lowered windows have a 15-pane pattern), and there are corniced end stacks. The roof is piended and covered with slate. The flanks of the building are two bays wide, and the rear wing was extended by two bays in the second half of the 19th century.
The outbuildings consist of two single-storey ranges, with the larger range to the south being piended and featuring a key-stoned dovecot in its west flank. The smaller gabled range includes a stable and a gig house.
