Description
This building, located at 84 and 86 High Street in Sanquhar, dates from the mid-19th century and consists of a pair of two-storey, three-bay ranges. The ground floor features shops, while the upper floors contain houses, although the left side has been altered. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar. On the ground floor, there are pilasters that support a continuous entablature, along with panelled doors that have decorative fanlights. To the left, there is a corbelled oriel window on the first floor, while the other upper windows are plate glass sashes with projecting cills. The building is topped with a cornice, has straight skews, and features end and axial stacks, all beneath a slate roof.
