Description
The churchyard at Dunscore Old Church features quadrangular walls made of rubble with ashlar coping. There is a stile and gates located on the west wall. Inside the churchyard, you will find many notable monuments from the 17th to the 19th century. Among these is the simple, rectangular-plan mausoleum for the Ferguson family of Isle, which was erected in 1770 and constructed from droved red ashlar with rusticated quoins. The tombs of the Griersons, who were the Lairds of Lag, are also present in the churchyard.
