Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. Farmhouse and steading.

FARMHOUSE: 2-storey, with 1st floor breaking eaves, 3-bay farmhouse. Painted rubble. Painted protruding cills.

S ELEVATION: gabled stone porch at centre, with door to W return and window to S. Windows in outer bays, with gabled dormerheads at 1st floor. Drystone garden wall adjoined to left and right.

E ELEVATION: blank.

4-pane glazing in sash and case windows. Gablehead stacks to E and W. Small grey slates. No skews. Octagonal cans.

STEADING: L-plan; range built into slope to W, forming single storey to W and 2-storey to E; single storey range to N. Painted rubble. Small grey slates to gabled and piended roofs.

W RANGE: windows at ground and 1st floors; segmental-arched cart arch to right; stable to left.

INTERIOR: cobbled stables, with swept timber trevises and hecks.

N RANGE: 2 lower buildings, stepping down in height; various doors and ventilation holes to byre to E.
