Description
1 Main Street in New Luce is a mid-19th century single-storey pair of cottages, featuring five bays arranged in a 2-3 configuration. The left side, designated as No 1, occupies two bays and is finished in harling with protruding cills.
On the west elevation facing Main Street, there are boarded doors located in the bays to the left and right of the center, while the remaining bays contain windows. The north and south elevations are gabled and blank.
The windows are fitted with plate glass glazing in sash and case style. The building has red sandstone coped skews and broad harled gablehead stacks on both the north and south sides. The roof is covered with small grey slates and does not feature any cans. Originally, there was a ridge stack and skew located between the second and third bays.
