Description

Early 19th century with later 19th century alterations.

2-storey terrace of houses on corner site on King Street and

St Andrews Street, now combined to form Douglas Arms Hotel.

To St Andrews Street, 3 and 4-bay houses; to King Street 2 x

3-bay houses. All smooth rendered with raised painted

margins.

St Andrews Street: to left 3-bay part with central Roman

Doric porch, all ground floor windows enlarged bipartites,

all 1st floor windows single light. All sash and case with

plate glass glazing.

King Street: 2 x 3-bay houses. To extreme left bay tripartite

to ground, canted timber oriel to 1st. Most ground floor

windows enlarged, most 1st floor windows retain original

proportions. Sash and case windows with plate-glass or small

pane glazing. Coped axial stacks, slate roofs, some skews at

party walls. Piended roof to angle.
