Douglas Arms Hotel, 11, 13, 15 St Andrew Street, Castle Douglas

The Douglas Arms Hotel, located at 11, 13, and 15 St Andrew Street in Castle Douglas, is an early 19th-century building that has undergone later 19th-century alterations. This two-storey terrace of houses sits on a corner site at the junction of King Street and St Andrew Street, now functioning as a single hotel.

On St Andrew Street, the building features three and four bays, while on King Street, there are two sets of three-bay houses. The exterior is smooth rendered with raised painted margins. The left part on St Andrew Street has three bays and includes a central Roman Doric porch. The ground floor windows here have been enlarged into bipartites, while the first-floor windows consist of single lights, all of which are sash and case with plate glass glazing.

On King Street, the two three-bay houses have an extreme left bay with a tripartite window on the ground floor and a canted timber oriel on the first floor. Most ground floor windows have been enlarged, while many first-floor windows retain their original proportions. The windows are also sash and case, featuring either plate-glass or small pane glazing. The building has coped axial stacks, slate roofs, and some skews at the party walls, with a piended roof at the angle.
