Description

Circa 1860. Hotel with later bank. 3-storeys, 2nd floor possibly later addition. 3 asymmetrical bays to St Mary's Street, 6 asymmetrical bays to St Cuthbert's Street. Modern polished granite facade to bank, the remainder painted rubble and margins. 1st and 2nd floors to St Mary's Street with single central windows, bipartites in outer bays, that to left advanced. Bipartites in each floor of similar advanced bays to St Cuthbert's Street; 5 recessed bays with consoled doorpiece to right, 4 bipartites to left. 1st and 2nd floors 2 bipartites at right, 3 single lights to left. Continuous cornice above 1st floor windows, eaves course, ridge stacks, slate roof, piended at corner.

3-bay extension in St Cuthbert's Street, originally 2-storey and attic 3-bay house. Painted snecked rubble with long and short dressings. Central pilastered door. Later pilastered and corniced window at angle. 3 swept roofed dormers. Slate roof.
