Description

Crawick New Bridge is a road bridge that possibly dates back to 1825. It features two similar segmental arches with hoodmoulds spanning over Crawick Water, with one arch serving as a flood relief. The bridge is constructed from stugged ashlar with polished dressings and voussoirs. It has bull-faced piers with cutwaters on either side and wide pilaster strips above. The arch rings are recessed, and there is a band course below the coped parapets, which are splayed at the approaches. Worn datestones can be found at two diagonally opposite ends of the parapet.
