Description
Whim Cottage in Kippford dates back to the early 19th century and has undergone later alterations. It is a two-storey cottage located to the north, with an adjoining lower two-storey former warehouse or workshop to the south, which has been converted into a single dwelling. The building features painted rubble, and while new openings have concrete jambs, the rest of the structure is made of rubble. There is a forestair leading to the first-floor door on the west side of the lower south wing, which mostly has modern openings with modern glazing. The northern part of the building has coped end stacks with thack stanes and a tile roof, while the southern part has slate roofs.
