Description
Kipp House is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay house with long single-storey recessed wings. The exterior is made of painted rubble, featuring smooth rusticated quoins and raised margins. The main elevation faces south, where the original central door has been moved to the left; it is a double-leaf panelled door. The ground floor windows have lowered cills, while the first floor has three single light windows. All windows are sash and case, with 8-pane glazing on the ground floor and 4-pane glazing on the first floor.
The wings are two bays wide, with shallow advanced end bays topped by piend roofs. They feature near full-height windows with 8-pane sashes, and the east wing includes a French door. There is a band course at the eaves and a decorative eaves cornice. The main house has a piended roof with tall end stacks topped with octagonal cans, and all roofs are covered with slate.
A lean-to veranda spans the full width of the two-storey block, supported by delicate cast-iron filigree uprights, with a roof that is partly corrugated iron and partly glazed. The rear elevation includes a full-height bay with a piend roof at the centre and a two-storey harled brick addition to the right.
