Description
This late 19th and early 20th century summerhouse stands beside Cairn Water, near Maxwelton House. It is a rustic, semi-circular structure built primarily of timber. The outer walls are faced with vertically arranged split logs. The south side is open below the gable roof, which is centrally supported by two tree trunks, with timber facing arranged in a herringbone pattern. The floor is cobbled, and there are built-in seats along the inner wall face. The roof is covered in shingles.
