Description
The North Lodge and Gatepiers, dating probably to around 1800, form an entrance to Maxwelton House. The arrangement features two square gatepiers constructed of rusticated ashlar and topped with urn finials raised on stepped caps, all whitewashed. A later gate is also present. Short screen walls extend on either side of the gatepiers; the southeastern wall connects to the lodge, and the northwestern wall connects to a pedestrian gate. The statutory address for the gatepiers is Maxwelton House North Gatepiers.
